Various things have been written about, or to do with, the Mewburns. Some of these are captured here for your interest and entertainment. Other bits and pieces will be added from time to time.
The family name
The origin of the name is believed to be from Maulds Meaburn in Westmorland. In recorded times the spelling Meaburn is principally related to County Durham while Mewburn is distinctively of Cleveland in North Yorkshire.

Dorothea Mewburn-Watson's history of the Acomb line
Dorothea Mewburn-Watson wrote a history of her family line, the Mewburns of Acomb.
She wrote it some time between 1917 and 1921 but it was never published. A copy has been discovered at the Archives of Ontario and a commentary has been added. Not everything in it is accurate and it tends to glorify the family but it is a fascinating account.
